Laminating alternating layers of carbon fiber and hardwood veneer yields the extremely lightweight and rigid composite parts that make up Chair 2.0. This experimental composite marries the strength of carbon fiber with the aesthetics of hardwood – producing an heirloom quality chair frame with remarkably thin members. Chair 2.0 is shown below in carbon fiber, walnut veneer and dark brown bridal leather.
