This 70 pound heirloom tusk is unevenly weighted, and has a very fragile upper portion where the ivory forms a three foot cavity. Two custom-fitted steel arms work together to stabilize the tusk in a neutral position without putting pressure on its weaker points. The assembly is composed of pewter plated steel and limestone. Small pieces of technical felt line the inside of the steel to protect the artifact.
