This entry door scheme was designed in partnership with Strathcona Construction for a contemporary home in the woodlands of the Forks of the Credit. The concept was for the door to represent a vault granting access into the surrounding forest landscape. The working components – specified in bronze, stainless steel and titanium – are supported by carbon-fibre- reinforced, steel ‘cheek plates’ and are encased in thermal glass. The 7.5’ x 3.5’ x 8” door has internal piston actuators that make it easy to open and shut. The project is in the schematic phase of development and is currently not built.
